Today is the Royal Wedding Route day! Relive the Best Day Ever today, remembering the Royal Wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. We get a bit teary-eyed just thinking of it!
At Westminster Abbey, join a verger-led tour at 10:30. The 90-minute tour begins at the North Door and tours the Shrine, the Royal Tombs, the Poets’ Corner, the Cloister and the Nave. Picture the tall, green trees and the Boys’ Choir singing, just like April 29, 2011. After the tour, grab a quick bite at Pret-A-Manger and head back to your hotel.
Spend the next few hours getting extra pretty. You’re off to afternoon tea at The Goring! Put on your tea dress, high heels and fancy make-up and get ready for a proper English tea. Stash a pair of flats in your bag for later.
Tea is served between 3p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and reservations are necessary. In the summer, enjoy your tea in a real English garden. In the winter, you’ll enjoy tea in the lush sitting rooms. Kate and her bridal party spent the night before the wedding at The Goring, and spent the next morning perfecting that wonderful wedding look. Can you imagine seeing her in her dress, sneaking through the lobby?
After tea, you are headed to Buckingham Palace. You can book a private, evening tour of the State Rooms or wander throughout by yourself. The Palace stays open until 7p.m. some evenings, to allow for post-tea tourism! Dance the evening away like a Royal Wedding guest.
