William, Catherine, and Harry along with members of the British royal family and friends of the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh came out tonight for a grand party to celebrate the Queen and Duke’s 70th wedding anniversary.
It has been 70 years since then-Princess Elizabeth married Prince Phillip of Greece and Denmark at Westminster Abbey.
India Hicks, daughter of Lady Pamela Hicks, posted a fun anecdote on her Twitter to commemorate the anniversary: “I just asked my Mama what this day felt like 70 years ago “Normal wedding chaos” she said “The tiara broke and the bouquet was lost for a while, but The Queen was delighted to discover that her favourite corgi, Susan, had been hidden under a rug in her carriage, so that she could join them for their honeymoon at Broadlands” (Broadlands was my grandfathers home)”
To celebrate tonight’s special anniversary, the whole royal family enjoyed a night out at Windsor Castle full of glitz and glamour. Very few photographs from the evening have emerged, but we enjoyed arrival and departure pictures of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.
Catherine wore her Diane von Furstenberg “Zarita” dress and loads of bling! Diana’s pearl drop earrings paired perfectly with the Queen’s diamond and pearl choker for an elegant, glamorous look.
We sincerely hope the evening was loads of fun, and featured a dance to ABBA’s “Dancing Queen,” which is reportedly Her Majesty’s favorite song!
