Day Four of the Royal Tour of Germany began today in Heidelberg.
The city of Heidelberg is a sister city to Cambridge, so the visit is quite appropriate for the Duke of Duchess.
The first stop of the day was to the German Cancer Research Center. William and Kate met with staff and researchers.
They visited the stem cell research lab and learned more about the work at the center.
Next, the Camrbidges visit the town center. A local British-German market was on the scene selling local food and drink.
Kate and William had a go at making pretzels, and Kate was noticeably better at the task.
Continuing their long-standing sporting rivalry, William and Kate then ventured to the River Neckar.
The Cambridges competed in a rowing competition, which is always one of the best events in a royal tour.
William’s team was victorious, but there was still good sportsmanship amongst the two.
The glittering event of the evening took place in the mirrored hall of Clärchens Ballhaus. This was one of the most formal events of the trip, and Kate did not disappoint.
For this morning’s events, Kate wore a bespoke yellow frock from Jenny Packham. The bright yellow was reminiscent of the yellow color on Germany’s flag. She accessorized with Monsoon wedges, an Alexander McQueen clutch, and new Oscar de la Renta earrings.
For the boat racing, Kate kept to her nautical uniform with a striped tee from Hugo Boss. Hugo Boss is a German brand, based in Germany, and the cornflower blue color was a nice diplomatic touch.
Kate also wore dark wash skinny jeans, Superga sneakers, and Ray Ban folding wayfarers.
In the evening, Kate glitzed up in an edgy Markus Lupfer midi dress. The designer is also based in Germany, a nice diplomatic nod to the host country.
Kate accessorized with Soru earrings, Prada sandals and a currently-UFO clutch.
Tomorrow is the final day of the tour, and we look forward to seeing the Cambridges again in Hamburg!
