Wish, wish, got our wish! The Duchess channelled her inner French girl today, wearing a chic Chanel coat for a morning of engagements in Paris.
The first stop in the morning was at Les Invalides, the French military museum in Paris. The couple received a tour of the museum, and met with military veterans. If you are ever in Paris, it’s well worth the trip for it’s magnificent displays and historical significance.
The next stop on their tour was at the Musée d’Orsay, one of the largest museums in the world. Several of the pieces from the museum will be on display at the Tate Museum in England later this year. Fans of the Duchess will recall that Kate has a degree in Art History, so we imagine she certainly enjoyed the visit.
Next, the royal couple attended an event in further support of the “Les Voisins” initiative where we saw the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge play some rugby with young people. It looked like fun for everyone involved.
At the tail end of that event, Will & Kate got an iconic Parisian photo that every tourist longs for… A view of the Eiffel Tower from the Trocadéro!
Kate made many royal fashion watchers happy today with her choice of a chic Chanel coat.
The piece is based on a design from the Spring/Summer 2017 collection, and was a gorgeous choice to flatter the Duchess’ thin waist with a belt detail. Kate also wore the brand’s Calfskin Bag with Enamel Handle, from the 2015 collection.
She paired the Chanel items with her Tod’s fringed shoes we first saw on the Royal Visit Canada. The jewels Kate paired with the look were from French brand Cartier, the Trinity de Cartier earrings and necklace – and, of course, her trusty Cartier Ballon Bleu watch.
