It’s raining engagements in February! Kensington Palace certainly wasn’t joking when they advised on Friday that February will be full of events for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in support of Heads Together. Miss something? Don’t worry. We’ll catch you up in this week’s edition of Keeping up with the Cambridges.
In the Press
At this week’s engagement, Kate shared that she Is “Very Lucky” to Be a “Real Princess”. Vanity Fair shared that the families who met Kate were blown away by how easygoing the Duchess was. The service manager at the hospice told People that Kate “got down on people’s levels,” making a “point of crouching when she was talking with children so she was at eye level.” She continued, “[Kate] is good at putting people at ease [hearing] their stories.”
Another repliKater in the headlines! The Daily Mail and the Mirror interviewed Valerie Nijssen to talk about her repliKate (and repli-Pippa) looks. Many of you may know Valerie from Instagram, so it was fun to see some of her collection and her story in the news. (Photo below via the Mirror)
A hat is causing quite a stir… Vanity Fair reports that there is a hat coming up for auction in March that has been signed by both the late Princess Diana and Kate. While details on the actual provenance of the hat are sketchy (at best), it will be quite interesting to see what happens and if we ever find out the story behind it.
Kate was out in support of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) in Quidenham, Norwich this week.
EACH continues to fundraise for a new, modern facility for the hospice charity The Nook, in nearby Framingham Earl. This week, Kate met with families and staff to support those fighting life-limiting conditions and those who have lost family members.
Just For Fun
There definitely is something special about the relationship between Kate and Harry. The Insider took a look at their close bond.
This week, we asked Jamie Samhan, Deputy Editor of Royal Central, for her thoughts on what training the Duchess of Cambridge might have taken before joining the Royal Family. Jamie shared her thoughts (SAS Anti-Kidnap training!) and we were delighted to have her share her insights.
We also saw how a plate of gnocchi landed one chef a job with the Royal family – and shared the recipe!
WWKD’s RepliKate database constantly adds new repliKates and updates old ones. Here are some of our most recent favorites:
