William and Kate began their two day tour of Cornwall today. Cornwall is the Duchy which the couple will one day inherit when Charles ascends the throne and undoubtedly a region they would like to get to know better. Their visit will be focused around mental health and charities which are aligned with the Duchy of Cornwall.
The day’s events took place in Truro. The couple first visited the Truro Cathedral where they met representatives of the Church and local dignitaries. Following the tour of the Cathedral, where they signed new roof tiles to be placed on the Church, the couple did a walkabout and met excited locals.
The next two events saw William & Kate meeting with organizations helping young people with mental health challenges. They first visited Zebs, an organization of Young People Cornwall. It was surely a great visit for the Duchess of Cambridge especially as Zebs offers space for another of her passions, the arts, through creative exploration so young people can have a safe and encouraging environment.
Next was a fun trip to a successful local business, Healeys Cyder Farm. There, the couple tasted the ciders of the farm (and some alcohols!) Kate looked right at home pouring a pint!
They then visited a local construction site supported by the Duchy of Cornwall to provide new room for business and housing in the area. The construction workers certainly turned to look at Kate!
And lastly, they visited another organization that is undoubtedly close to the heart of the Duchess’ passions – the Wave Project. The unique project uses surfing as a way to reduce anxiety and help young people deal with stress.
It was a great day and we can not wait for another fun day’s worth of events tomorrow.
Stay tuned for a full recap of what Kate wore – and of course repliKates – coming soon!
