This evening, William and Kate attended the “A Taste of Norfolk” dinner for EACH Hospices at Houghton Hall, in Norfolk. The five-course dinner, prepared by Michelin-starred chefs, supported the Nook Appeal which is aiming to build a children’s hospice in the area. It’s a cause close to Kate’s heart as a patron of EACH.
The event was close to home for the Royals as Houghton Hall is only three and a half miles down the road from Will and Kate’s home at Anmer Hall. An exchange between William, Kate, and the chefs produced one of the more comical moments of royal engagements. Kate informed the chefs that “William has to put up with my cooking most of the time”. William was quick to retort that “It’s the reason I’m so skinny”. We are sure you are joking, William!
After some initial confusion, it was confirmed that Kate re-wore a fan favourite in a stunning, beaded Jenny Packham gown that we previously saw in 2011 at the ARK gala. The gown holds a special spot in many hearts as it was her first engagement after becoming the Duchess of Cambridge following her 2011 wedding.
In contrast to the last time she wore the dress, tonight featured an elegant undo and different jewelry. Tonight, she is wearing the Queen’s Chandelier earrings and a large diamond bracelet.
Because the Duchess wore the dress back in 2011 for the first time, we are fortunate that there are several repliKates available of the dress, like this stunning one from Gina Bacconi, available at John Lewis.
