The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge traveled to Bhutan today for their two-day visit of the Royal Tour. The day was spent in the capitol of Thimphu, where they were given a very warm welcome!
Their day started in India, where they boarded the plane to Bhutan around 8AM local time. The Duchess wore her beautiful Tory Burch “Chrissy” dress for the departure. This was not their last stop in India, as they will return to Agra later in the week.
Upon arrival in Bhutan, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were met by Princess Chimi Wangchuck and her husband. Kate was wearing a sunny yellow coatdress by Emilia Wickstead, which we first saw a few years ago. She wore her LK Bennett “Fern” pumps and carried her “Natalie” clutch.
After a drive from the airport to the Palace, Will and Kate met the King and Queen of Bhutan. King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun (read our piece on her here) rolled out a very warm welcome for the couple.
Queen Jetsun and Kate appeared to have much to discuss!
After their initial greetings, the Royals took in a little archery – Will and Kate even tested out their hands at the traditional activity.
The Duchess wore a cape by designer Paul and Joe, which featured Bhutanese-inspired embroidery that was stitched in India. Her skirt was created by her personal seamstress from a large piece of fabric given to her by a Bhutanese woman who weaved the piece by hand. Catherine also wore new amethyst earrings from Kiki McDonough and her LK Bennett “Fern” heels.
We think it’s safe to say they enjoyed themselves…
In the evening, William and Catherine enjoyed a private dinner with the King and Queen of Bhutan, where we imagine they chatted about their little ones – the King and Queen recently welcomed their first son! Kate wore a Tory Burch dress and black sandals.
