To say that the Duchess of Cambridge is a fan of Jenny Packham is an understatement. She’s been seen in the brand countless times, preferring the clean lines and figure hugging cuts to flatter her lean, athletic build. Who can forget these gorgeous favorites?
Last Sunday evening in New York for Fashion Week, Jenny Packham shared her Fall 2016 collection at the Skylight Clarkson Square. The show paid definite homage to the end of the disco era, with sequins and gold metallic pieces being front and center. When there weren’t shiny metallic pieces coming down the runway, there were flowy pieces in bright colors. Art deco inspiration was also rampant.
‘We wanted a very upbeat, sexy, glamorous party collection,’ Jenny told reporters, ‘It’s sort of about looking at different photographs of that era and just those last days of disco, really.’
When showstopping dresses weren’t being shown, wider belts than we have seen the last few years and gorgeous Christian Louboutin shoes graced the feet of the models. There were also lots of casual items – which we know Kate has an interest in – including red lace dresses, sequined v-neck sweaters and bottoms in orange and yellow hues.
