The Duchess of Cambridge was in Edinburgh, Scotland today for a series of engagements. It was the first solo visit for the Countess of Strathearn, as she is known in Scotland.
The first stop on the day’s agenda was St. Catherine’s RC Primary School, where the Duchess was greeted by a large crowd of cheerful students. Her Royal Highness met with headteachers and staff to discuss the impact of Place2Be in their school. She has been patron of Place2Be since 2012.
Next up, Catherine visited the Wester Hailes Education Centre, a community center that works with The Art Room. The Duchess met with students who use art to express their emotions, and participated in a round-table discussion to learn how the WHEC benefits the local community.
The most fun event took place in the afternoon, where Kate met with Andy Murray’s mother, Judy, and her organization, Tennis on the Road. The Duchess participated in a tennis workshop held at Craigmount High School. Catherine, Judy, and staff members practiced their tennis skills with the school’s students.
The Duchess of Cambridge wore a coat by Sportmax, which we saw previously this past Christmas. She added a bit of Scottish style with a houndstooth kilt by Le Kilt along with a black jumper. For accessories, she stuck to tried-and-true favorites: her Cartier watch and Stuart Weitzman shoes.
For the tennis workshop, we got to see Sporty Kate in action! The Duchess wore a Nike half-zip tennis top, Monreal London tuxedo track pants, and Asics trainers. It was great fun to see her in such casual attire.
Today’s events were a great way for Catherine to interact with local kids, while also supporting and learning more about the charities she supports!
