Kate completed her first engagement of 2016 yesterday with a visit to the RAF Air Cadets to help celebrate their 75th Anniversary at St. Clement Danes Church in London. The event marked Kate’s first engagement with the organization since the Duke of Edinburgh passed his patronage of the RAF Air Cadets to Kate in December.
Kate looked stunning at the event, wearing her very popular cornflower blue Alexander McQueen coat. You may remember this coat from previous engagements – she wore it during the Australia/New Zealand tour in 2014 and wore it again for D-Day celebrations in Normandy that same year. Her hat was from Lock & Co., and it appears that she was wearing a new shoe – the Rupert Sanderson Malory heel in navy blue. Their website describes them as something perfect for our Duchess:
“A perennial classic, Malory returns for the new season in opulent navy suede. Loved for a sultry 100mm heel and forever-chic pointed toe, this signature court will complement on-duty tailoring and occasion dresses alike.”.
The Duchess carried her navy blue suede Russell & Bromley clutch and gloves and gorgeous diamond and aquamarine earrings. There was also much fuss about the fact that Kate wore a plaster – BandAid – on her finger during the ceremonies. Just another reminder that Kate is as real a person as any of us!
Kate also wore her Air Cadets Dacre Brooch and is the highest award a female Air Cadet can achieve. We expect to continue seeing this brooch for years to come – as well as seeing Kate at more Air Cadets events throughout the year.
Kate’s McQueen coat has been long sold out, but we have found a similar hued version for only $132 – as well as a deeper blue McQueen version that is drastically marked down if you’re in the market for a new coat.
We also found a pair of Rupert Sanderson Malory heels – in black leather – marked down from $675 to under $200! The nude version is also available for $415.
