The Duchess of Cambridge has one of the world’s most enviable closets – from casual to couture, we love her style and sartorial choices. We began to ponder, if you could steal one item from her closet, what would you choose? We asked Team WWKD, and our whole team was eager to answer. Christine | Editor: If I had to choose just one, I would probably steal Kate’s Temperley “Odele” coat. Every time she wears it, I lust after it. It had an edgy look to it, but when Kate pairs it with simple, classic pieces it creates a modern outfit. Plus – it looks SO warm! I just want to throw it on and take Lupo for a walk…
One of our favourite #DuchessKate looks of all-time has to be this blue and white @dvf dress worn in #Australia on the #RoyalTour. The colouring of the dress is extremely flattering with her hair colour – and a dress that non-royals can wear everyday too! What are some of your fave #kate looks? #katemiddleton #princesskate #dvf #blue #white #dress #style #fashion #brunette
Amanda | Editor: As someone with a curvier body type than Kate but who loves everything Kate – especially her fashion choices- I would definitely steal a couple of her DVF wrap dresses to compliment my existing repliKate collection! The blue & white Diane von Furstenberg dress worn on the Australia Tour in 2014 is not the most expensive item in Kate’s closet but I love the colour scheme and how Diane’s dresses can fit everyone. Of course, I am also always in the market for a tiara…
Mary | Contributor: I have two weddings I will be attending in the fall, one of which I am in! Considering one will be in Vermont, it will be a bit chilly. With that said, a dress of Kate’s that I absolutely love is her Diane von Furstenberg ‘Zarita’ black lace gown. I adore anything with lace and, coupling that with the length of this evening gown, it is my style to perfection. It is truly a piece which exemplifies timeless elegance.
Dr. Christina | Contributor: The item of Kate’s for which I most desire to provide a new home (aka, my home!) is the beautiful silver and grey hand-painted floral Jenny Packham dress that Kate first wore during the Royal Tour to Canada and the USA in 2011. On that tour, she wore the dress to an engagement at the Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club and has since worn the dress a few times to weddings that she has attended (although we have only been able to see a flash of the dress peeking out underneath the hem of a coat). I love the grace and elegance of this dress and believe it to be a piece that Kate is truly partial to as well, in that she has chosen it both for an official engagement as well as for personal events. Moreover, I love how wearable the dress seems to be and just how simply PRETTY it is!
Gemma | Contributor: I would definitely steal Kate’s Mulberry Polly Push Lock satchel! First of all, I’m a huge Mulberry fan girl, and this is a gorgeous bag – especially in such an unusual colourway. I don’t own another one like it, so there’s definitely room in my wardrobe for a navy bag! Secondly, when I saw Kate carrying it at the airport, I fell in love with her entire outfit. That Smythe jacket, the Roland Mouret Manon dress, the bag and the Manolo Blahniks – flawless look, and one of my favourites.
Tell us: what item would you snag from Kate’s closet? A ball gown, or a pair of perfect denim? Send us a tweet at @WWKD_Official and let us know!
