The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge headed to the SW19 to enjoy sunshine, Pimms, strawberries, and Andy Murray. In what is becoming an annual tradition, William and Kate attended the Gentleman’s Singles quarterfinal match between Murray and Pospisil.
Wimbledon is the oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament in the world. Each year, hundreds of thousands of tennis fans flock to London to the All England Club. The tournament takes place over two weeks in June and July. William and Kate have attended many times over the last few years, including twice last year.
The Duke and Duchess sat in the royal box at Centre Court to cheer on 2013 champion Andy Murray. Murray has become a national icon for Great Britain, bringing numerous trophies and titles home for Queen and Country.
While white is the usually color for Wimbledon, Kate popped in a bright red dress by LK Bennett. Kate & Pippa Style on Twitter quickly IDed the dress as their “Cayla” dress.
Kate accessorized with Jimmy Choo “Gilbert” nude heels and a leopard Diane von Furstenburg clutch. For jewels, Kate chose her Cartier watch and Mirabelle earrings.
When the sunshine finally came out, Kate put on her Ray-Ban folding wayfarers. The style folds up extra small, making them perfect for a clutch handbag. She chose the non-polarized lenses in a “Havana” frame.
Royal watchers were very excited to note that Catherine was sporting a swishy new haircut! The new cut features a soft side bang and longer layers. Some noted that the color was also different. Overall, a lovely new look for the Duchess!
Andy Murray was victorious and continued on to the next rounds of the tournaments. Speaking after his match, he said “‘I think it’s great that William & Kate come along. It’s great for our sport and id love them to come along again, hopefully on Sunday.” William and Kate may attend the next round – we’ll let you know if they do!
