Today, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and
our favorite third wheel Prince Harry traveled to Yorkshire to attend the Tour De France Grand Depart in Leeds. The begins today in England and ends on July 27 in Paris after riders complete the 2,300 mile race.
This year marks the 101st Tour De France, an iconic annual multi-stage bike race. 22 cycling squads will depart from the picturesque Yorkshire Dales. The race often begins outside of France, but England has not hosted the Grand Depart since 2007.
William, Kate and Harry attended many sporting events during the 2012 London Olympics, including the cycling events. All three are keen supporters of Team UK, whether its football, field hockey, or cycling.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry officially started the race and watched Team GB rider Mark Cavendish during Stage 1 of the event.
Along with her husband and brother-in-law, Kate went on a walkabout to greet the hordes of people who came to see the race. It is so nice seeing her interact with children!
The Duchess of Cambridge wore a green wool coat by Erdem, seen previously during the Royal Tour of Australia and New Zealand in April. She coordinated the look with her LK Bennett Sledge pumps and Avona clutch in taupe patent.
Kate’s bouncy blowout showed off her gorgeous emerald drop earrings. We think Kate got a haircut – what do you think?
Overall, it was a very fun event. We love seeing Wills, Kate and Harry having a great time!
