Everyone at What Would Kate Do is a music lover, so it makes us all happy to know that Kate is too! While we might have not access to her personal iTunes, Kate herself has given us clues to her musical taste, and boy does she love some British Pop Music. Cheerful and fun, it would make sense that Kate would have an infinity for pop music, especially that of her home country. We’re breaking down some of her favorite musical artists today so you can get your iTunes in princess pop order!
The 30-year-old British pop icon was chosen to perform at the Queens Jubilee Concert in which Kate and William were in attendance. Cole, a previous The X Factor judge, is said to be a favorite artist of Kate’s, with the Duchess even dressing up as and performing Cole’s song “Fight For This Love” while at her stag party before the royal wedding. Other hit’s include “Promise This” and “3 Words.”
If only we could select our favorite artist to perform at our wedding reception, right? Well, the future King and Queen of England were lucky enough to have that option, and they chose British pop star, Ellie Goulding. Apparently, the royal couple had purchased her debut album, Lights, and are huge fans of her music. It is believed Goulding performed her hit song, “Your Song” at the wedding reception for their first dance. Her song “Burn” is her first number one hit in the UK.
It is said that Kate and William’s favorite song is the BodyRockers’ hit, “I Like The Way.” A great electronic dance song, it’s easy to see the couple dancing to the beat while at their favorite night club, Boujis. While the group has yet to release a record since 2005, the song is still a timeless dance tune, and something I can imagine Kate even working out to with its uptempo beat.
