Anyone who follows Duchess Kate, is well aware of the “Kate Effect.” We feel that sweet longing for hair as bouncy and full as hers, and don’t even get us started on that amazing wardrobe. So it would seem obvious that her son, Prince George, would have an effect of his own.
I’m not suggesting newborns are clamoring to get their own GH Hurt & Son Ltd shawl, the one he donned while exiting the Ludo Wing and in his first official photo, but mothers sure are. A source from the firm has said, “The phone has been ringing off the hook and we have been taking more online orders than we have ever seen before.”
When Kate was spotted leaving Almonds, a luxury U.K. baby boutique, caring a Moses Basket, interest in the baskets spiked. And the increase was not only felt at Almonds, but Asda, a U.K. supermarket chain that reported a 57 percent increase in online sales for it’s own Moses Basket. Sweet babies all around the country will be sleeping tight like royalty.
And who could forget that cute little swaddling blanket the Prince rode home in from the hospital featuring the little birds. After it was discovered that the blanket was made by aden + anais, their website crashed, twice! It was later reported that over the next nine days the company had over 7,000 orders, or a 600 percent increase in sales just on that item!
