Kate’s Bikini Conundrum

Ah, those bikini pictures

The world was (quietly and ashamedly) awaiting the pictures of Kate sporting a teeny bikini and a baby bump. While we knew they would show up eventually, we felt her pain and anguish of having our half-naked bodies published.

Kate Middleton’s bikini photos were published, and the internet went wild. Whether we wanted to see the bump, or Her Royal Highness in scantily clad attire, one thing rings true – most women can relate to the dastardly bikini pictures. Sometimes our friends catch us at a bad angle, or the shadows just aren’t right, or…worst of all…you never wanted those pictures to wind up on Facebook. Now everyone has seen you in a square foot of fabric. So, what would Kate do?

Prevention, Prevention, Prevention

Privacy is key

Stick to private or less crowded beaches. You are going to relax and enjoy yourself more without dozens (or hundreds) of others crowded around you. Even though Catherine couldn’t find privacy if she wanted to, we can pick our beach vacations with care. The Outer Banks, the Florida Keys, and the Hamptons are all great choices in the Unites States. The Maldives, the Seychelles, and our beloved Mustique are also great options. The former Kate Middleton has been seen at many secluded spots, especially Mustique where the latest photos were taken.

Talk about it

Make sure your friends and family know that you would rather not have half naked pictures floating around. Tell your closest confidant on the trip and the word will spread. If pictures unexpectedly pop up on Facebook, untag yourself and message the photographer immediately. Kindly explain that you are not comfortable with those pictures being public, and request they take them down.

But it’s bound to happen anyways…

Invest in a FABULOUS Suit

You will look a million times better in the right suit. Not everyone can wear a simple triangle top. Some ladies might look better in a bandeau. Don’t be afraid to try on ten different styles of tops and bottoms before you find the right one. Stick to a color that suits you – bring out the blue in your eyes with a blue print shoe, or stick to classic and sexy with a black style. If nothing else, wear a suit that you feel amazing in. Whether it’s a retro one piece or a modern monokini, wear it with confidence.

Keep it Classy

Stick to a conservative suit. Make sure the important bits are covered at all times, in any position, whether in water or on land. Avoid anything with a push up effect, as it can make a chic suit look raunchy. And, above all, keep your top on! Even in your own backyard, it is just too risky. To avoid tan lines, wear a strapless top. The only thing worse than pictures of you in your bikini are pictures of you out of your bikini.

Love your body

This is a life rule. Ladies, please, LOVE YOUR BODY. Love your curves, cherish your belly button, and take care of yourself. Loving your body means treating it well. Eat right and keep active. The love you put into your body will come back to you tenfold. Nothing looks sexier than a woman who is comfortable in her own skin, whether she dons a parka or a bikini.

You deserve to enjoy the beautiful beaches without worrying about your own version of paparazzi. Stick to these tips and hopefully you won’t end up on the cover of an Italian tabloid.
