Here in the States, we are being bludgeoned by bad weather. First, Superstorm Sandy took its toll on our eastern seaboard. Now, that same northeast area is in for a Noreaster, which is a storm of cold air, high winds, and if we are very lucky – snow. After an Indian summer of 70 degree weather through most of October, I am bundled up and completely unprepared.
The glory and wonder of England is the chill in the air nearly year round. Catherine has shown us how cold weather style is done. Whether for a formal affair or a casual afternoon, Kate knows how to dress for the crisp winter temperatures.
Catherine proves the cold can give way for stylish outfits. I love this picture of her, William and Lupo, enjoying a walk on the beach. Her classic quilted coat is paired with skinny jeans and her trusty Le Chameau wellingtons.
You can easily replicate this look. I am dying for this Zara quilted jacket with belt. At only $90, it is a perfect closet staple in either the off white or black (or both!). It possesses the classic Barbour style with a fashionable cinched waist.
As we previously discussed, investing in good wellingtons should be a real priority. Rumor has it Kate has been wearing the same Le Chameau wellies for years. Many retailers, including Nordstrom, sell the Le Chameau Vierzon Lady II, which are very similar to Kate’ Chasseur boots at half the cost.
For dryer climates (what, you don’t visit the beach in December?), I am in love with these Sperry black leather & suede riding boots. They are equal parts cozy and cute, and would look great with that Zara jacket. Kate has also been seen in the UGG-like Celtic Sheepskin footwear. Now, ladies. There is a time and a place for UGG boots, like walking your dog (this is my subtle way of reminding you that UGGs are not a fashion statement).
Kate has been known to wear classic cable-knit sweaters and adorable scarves when out and about. A cozy Ralph Lauren sweater, like this one, paired with a fun printed scarf from Accessorize complete the cold weather ensemble.
Pairing these with your comfiest pair of skinny jeans (perhaps with a pair of leggings or thick tights underneath for warmth) and you are ready for a romp in the snow!
Have you seen this? Lupo has his own website! Such a sweet little pup.
